Perinatal Information Network
Helping You Manage The Total Care of Mother and Baby
LifeCare’s Perinatal Information Network (PIN) encompasses all maternal and newborn documentation, creating paperless medical records reports across all departments, including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, well baby and neonatal care.
PIN’s charting application follows the patient care process from admit to discharge and, prompts the clinician to document care given during the natural workflow with focus on improved patient outcomes. Perfect for multi-site care delivery systems, PIN provides central and bedside surveillance, charting, bedside information management, archiving and database management capabilities.
PIN consistently receives high praise for its comprehensive charting, intuitive workflow-based design, and ease of use.
A Critical Difference in Patient Care
Unlike other systems that rely on a central server to capture critical information, LifeCare uses an additional, proprietary 'failsafe' system architecture to ensure continuous patient monitoring and significantly reduce the risk of potential data loss.
Each bedside computer is assigned a "buddy," which continuously captures and backs up its surveillance data. Should a bedside computer fail, its buddy continues to capture critical monitoring data until the failed computer is brought back on line. A network outage or failure of an individual computer does not disrupt continuous surveillance data capture system-wide.
LifeCare’s unique, fault-tolerant system architecture allows bedside workstations to continuously capture and monitor critical physiological data, and enable ongoing documentation and charting, even when disconnected from the network. This approach supports the use of monitors and workstations on mobile carts in ORs, ERs, or overflow rooms not connected to the network. Once the mobile computer is reconnected, patient data is available throughout the system.
