Data Conversion Data Conversion: Making the Accumulated More AccessibleState and Federal Law requires that patient clinical data be kept for as long as 27 years. Unfortunately, meeting this mandate can be time-consuming and costly. We are actively involved in helping our customers migrate the data they have collected using our legacy system. The goal of the data conversion process is to make the data more accessible. Data conversion services are available to all past and present customers for the purposes of exporting patient data from the PIN system to a format that can be accessible independent of PIN. The Consolidation and Validation ProcessThe consolidation process identifies all PIN file data at each hospital and places it into a central location for further processing. The validation process verifies the integrity of all PIN patient files. Series of different tests are performed during validation on the file structures, patient information, chart notes, and fetal monitor data for each patient. Successfully validated files are processed into the PIN Chart Notes database. Translation into a SQL DatabaseThe translation process converts the legacy PIN patient files & other associated PIN data into a SQL database. Once the translation process is complete, all facility, staff, and validated PIN patient data and files are securely stored in the SQL database where the data is accessible using standard report writing tools. Conversion to a PDF formatThe PDF conversion process utilizes the data in the PIN Chart Notes database to create standard patient reports and system reports. Standard patient reports are a complete set of reports containing chart notes, fetal monitor strip, nurse signatures, forms list, and data issues. PIN System reports provide additional information regarding staff and patient listings. All reports are stored in the PIN Chart Notes database and optionally, on hard disk. For more information on this process and how LifeCare can help you remain compliant, please contact us at your convenience. LifeCare Technologies has a library from which you may download documents and output examples. |
